Eventually after some malamuteyears it started to feel that with a some knowledge and hand on experience it would be possible to start consider breeding, allthough you ofcourse never stop learning. I took the Finnish Kennel Clubs breeders basic-course in 2006, kennelname Yaye-Non I got in 2008 and I have also signed the Finnish Kennel Clubs breeding obligation. I am a member of the Finnish Kennel Club, the Alaskan malamute Club of Finland, the Finnish Siberian Husky Club and L-ukk.

The Kennelname Yaye-Non comes from my spoiled little Nanuq's official name and in potawatomi it means "laugh" which I think that reflects the personality of malamutes very well and that's why was chosen for the kennelname.

So far we haven’t had any litters. In the future we hope that we can in our own part affect that Alaskan malamute stays as a healthy and balanced arctic working dog.

Our family got our first dog and also our first malamute, Hukka, in 1996. When Hukka arrived, I was only 6 years old, so luckily I have practically get to grow around malamutes. One of my first experiences with mushing was when Hukka pulled me on ice with a pulka and even me once falling trough the ice did not slow down my enthusiasm, it was just a good exercise. Eventually we got a sled and first I was on board and my mother Tuula driving and eventually when I got older I too started to drive.

Our first siberian husky we got in 2005 when we were on a holiday with our dogs and we visited on a huskysafarikennel and then Lefa stayed on our tour as a worker for our team and to spend his retirement days with us.

Right now we have 5 malamutes; Waho, Nanuq, Nuki, Chena and Kayimi and siberianhusky Takoda. To better sleddingtrails from our pack have left malamute Hukka and siberian husky Lefa.

The main hobby with our dogs is of course mushing and when we have a chance we also go couple times in a winter for sleddingtrips in the northern Finland. Right now in the sledteam are Nuki, Nanuq, Chena and Kayimi. Waho has moved to retirement and Takoda is still too young. Another hobby we have is obedience training and I have also attended in Finnish Kennelclubs obedience trainer-course and qualified as a obedience trainer in 2009. We also go to dog shows once in a while and ofcourse our dogs attend to other kinds of things with us for example as being company and carrying things in their own backpacks in our hiking trips. We have also attended in a few sleddog-races, but because malamutes are not racedogs, this is just playful and the main role in our mushing hobby is with hiking.
